How to play
When you play the game, it will prompt you to select either a single or double player. The game can be played continuously but you have the option to pick any of the 32 levels (unblocked). Another choice is to produce a random map.
Use the up, down, and side arrows or W-A-S-D keys to make Mario move. Hold the keys to make Mario move higher. To Fire/Sprint, use Shift/ CTRL. Press P to pause and M to mute.
Objective
The objective of the game is to save Princess Peach from Bowser and the Koopalings while the secondary goal is to collect a million coins or as many coins as possible. Countless elements were introduced to aid in achieving this goal and one of them is the Gold Flower which turns items into coins.
Obstacles
The Koopas are the turtle-like creatures and the Buzzy Beetles are the most common obstacles. The only way to defeat them is to jump on them and hit their shell until it sends them gliding. Extra points will be added to your score if it hits other enemies. In addition, you need to step on Goombas and Dry Bones to stunt his growth for a while.
Tips
Always make a running start when jumping and hit the blocks which may contain question marks, coins, fire flowers, or mushrooms. Some blocks may even have vines to climb. Don’t forget to look for shortcuts that might make your journey shorter. Lastly, unless absolutely necessary, never stop running.
Remember that the game has a time limit and the sooner you finish the game, the better it will be. In the original game the maximum time is 25,599 seconds.
